Established in 1923, Mill River has stood as a beacon of excellence in Stratford, CT. With a rich history and a commitment to providing an extraordinary golfing experience, the club has become a cherished institution for its members.

At the heart of Mill River's storied past lies its exceptional nine-hole course, which quickly gained recognition for its quality and challenge. In 1925, the course was expanded to 18 holes, further enhancing its allure and solidifying Mill River's reputation as a premier golf destination. Over the years, the club has welcomed renowned golfers and hosted prestigious tournaments, showcasing its dedication to the sport.

One of the club's most significant achievements was the honor of hosting the Shoreline Open Championship from 1937 to 1953. This major event on the P.G.A. Tour attracted some of the finest golfers of the time to Mill River's breathtaking fairways. Golf legends such as Gene Sarazen, Harry Cooper, Julius Boros, and many others graced the club, leaving an indelible mark on its history.

But the Shoreline Open Championship was not the only prestigious tournament held at Mill River. The club has also hosted two State of Connecticut Opens and the U.S. Ladies Amateur Championship, further cementing its status as a premier golfing destination. These events showcased the club's immaculate course and provided unforgettable moments for players and spectators alike.

As Mill River celebrates its centennial, the club has undergone a stunning renovation to enhance the experience for its members. Every aspect of the club has been meticulously crafted, from the beautifully redesigned locker rooms to the inviting bar room and exquisite outdoor seating. These updates create an atmosphere of luxury and comfort, ensuring that members can relax and enjoy their time at the club to the fullest.

It remains a premier destination for golf enthusiasts seeking exceptional playing conditions and a welcoming community. Whether you're looking to improve your swing, forge new friendships, or create lasting memories, Mill River offers the perfect blend of golf and social connections.

In addition to the centennial celebration, Mill River Country Club had another reason to rejoice as Nancy and Joe Lack, esteemed members of the club, celebrated their remarkable 50th anniversary. Nancy and Joe have been an integral part of the Mill River community, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and lifelong commitment.

Their enduring love and devotion serve as an inspiration to all who know them, and their milestone anniversary is a testament to the strong bonds fostered within the Mill River family.
