Serve & Smash Grand Opening Brings Pickleball & Padel Excitement to Branford

12 September 2025

Branford, CT — September 11, 2025 — After nearly two years of planning and preparation, Serve & Smash Pickleball & Padel Club has officially opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community celebration at its brand-new facility at 61 East Industrial Road, Branford, CT.

The grand opening event, held Thursday at 3:30 p.m., was highlighted by First Selectman Jamie Cosgrove as Guest of Honor, along with special guests and dozens of community members eager to see the facility. Attendees enjoyed an afternoon filled with music, food, beverages, and entertainment, along with free clinics, drop-in sessions, and raffles — including a Tyson McGuffin–signed JOOLA pickleball paddle.

“Serve & Smash is more than just a sports facility — it’s a community hub,” said the Serve & Smash team. “We’re proud to bring both pickleball and padel to Branford in a first-class setting where everyone, from beginners to experienced players, can connect, learn, and compete.”

A First for Connecticut

While pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America, padel is just beginning to catch on in the U.S. With international roots and a fast-paced, social style of play, padel is already hugely popular in Europe and Latin America. Serve & Smash is one of the first clubs in Connecticut to offer both sports under one roof, making it a true destination for racquet sports enthusiasts.
