CVS Health to Lay Off 416 Employees Tied to Aetna’s Hartford Headquarters
4 October 2024
CVS Health announced plans to lay off 416 employees associated with its subsidiary, Aetna, based in Hartford, Connecticut. This move, detailed in a notice under the WARN Act, includes 93 employees working at Aetna’s Hartford office and 323 remote workers. The layoffs are scheduled for December 8-21 and are expected to be permanent.

This announcement follows an earlier report from September 30, where CVS Health indicated it would cut 2,900 jobs across the U.S. as part of a strategy to save $2 billion through expense reduction and technology investment. The impacted roles include various administrative positions, reflecting ongoing cost-cutting measures in response to declining revenues at Aetna.
