State Investigation Into Connecticut AT&T Store Business Practices Deepens
Connecticut Attorney General William Tong has intensified an investigation into an AT&T-authorized retailer following the arrest of former employee Katie Ann Barnaby. She is accused of adding unauthorized lines and services to customer accounts to earn commissions, allegedly costing some victims more than $2,000.

The state has issued a civil investigative demand to AT&T requesting documents related to consumer complaints, internal procedures, compensation structure, and complaint response practices. The goal: determine whether such misconduct was isolated or part of broader business incentives.
